Joseph P. Jaconetta, Esquire
Joe is a native of Westerly, Rhode Island. He is a Phi Beta Kappa graduate of the University of Rhode Island where he earned a Bachelor's Degree in Political Science with highest distinction. Joe received his law degree from American University in Washington, D.C. and earned a Master's Degree in Taxation from Georgetown University in 1990.
Joe has twenty (20) years of experience in estate, business and tax planning. Prior to starting his own firm in 1995 he was an associate at Marone, Messina & Seifel, P.C. in Farmington, Connecticut and Pepe & Hazard in downtown Hartford. Joe is the author of several articles which have been published in prominent tax journals with national circulations such as "Sale of a Business", Commerce Clearing House, Chapter E:11; "Reducing Current Gain From Installment Sales of S Corporation Assets", Journal of S Corporation Taxation, Summer 1992; "AMT Liability on Buy\Sell Agreements", The Tax Adviser, September 1991; and "Purchase Price Allocations to Covenants Not To Compete Under The Internal Revenue Code Of 1986", The Tax Lawyer, Fall 1990.
Joe is a Past President of the Central Connecticut Business and Estate Planning Council and the Glastonbury Rotary Club. He is currently serving on the Executive Board of the Glastonbury Chamber of Commerce and is a member of the Estate and Business Planning Council of Hartford. Joe is a member of the Tax Section of the American Bar Association and the Elder Law Section and Estates and Probate Section of the Connecticut Bar Association. He is admitted to practice before the United States Tax Court and the United States District Court for the District of Connecticut.
